Notes:Ankle Gators- Ankle gators can be a great way to keep multiple different elements away from your legs and feet. They can potentially keep water, snow, insects, mud, brush, stones, thorns, etc. away and keep you comfortable. A good investment if you are thinking of making adventure races an annual thing.Waterproof shoes- Most companies offer trail shoes and a variation of those trail shoes that are water proof or water resistant. The danger with always using a waterproof shoe, is that if water gets on the inside of the shoe, then its very difficult to get it out, especially during the race. Regular trail shoes will drain. What about sweat? Many waterproof trail shoes will be made with ‘Goretex’ or something similar. Which allow sweat to escape and evaporate from the shoe, since sweat molecules are smaller than water ones, and keep water out. 2-1 shorts- Clothing options that offer 2-in-1 are fantastic alternatives to traditional attire. Shorts and Pants that include the underwear have less moving parts which in turn will help prevent chaffing and will be overall more comfortable.
